MADE.COM has opened the apartment above its new Amsterdam showroom, connecting both with a charming courtyard garden. The brightly coloured apartment features the original high ceilings and sash windows favoured in Amsterdam architecture, allowing MADE to create an authentic apartment experience, with a MADE design twist.
The location is a haven for instagrammers, featuring bright red arched doorways, two tone walls juxtaposed with hardwood floors and stained glass partitions give the room sets a homely feel while retaining a modern design aesthetic. The apartment features a large double bedroom overlooking the courtyard below, with en suite bathroom, a bright sitting room and lounge with a view of the iconic 9 streets in Amsterdam, a fully stocked kitchen and smaller storage room. The apartment is furnished with MADE’s most iconic and stand out pieces including a burnt orange Scott sofa, prints from renowned artists and Samsung technologies.
The future of retail spaces continues to evolve and while MADE’s customer journey starts and ends online, bricks and mortar spaces continue to provide an immersive, 3D expression of the design brand’s ethos while also providing a location for events. The MADE apartment will host a series of events and workshops, as well as overnight stays for a lucky few.
Jo Jackson, Chief Creative Officer for the brand said “We wanted a space that we could invite people into – in the same way you would your own home – this apartment is the MADE home. We kept a lot of the original personality of the building and gave it the MADE treatment. That’s how most people curate their homes, with a mixture of pieces that make it true to them. Our aim is to create more spaces like this that give real context for our designs while being awesome locations that people want to visit.”
The MADE apartment is open now and the showroom is located at 31-37 Raadhuisstraat, Amsterdam.
