Sainsbury’s is Opening a Meat-Free Butcher Shop for World Meat-Free Week

In celebration of World Meat-Free Week in June, Sainsbury’s is opening the first Meat-Free Butchers in the UK.

In place of meat, the pop-up will showcase a variety of vegan-friendly, plant-based meat alternatives that may even inspire passersby to try something new. To encourage this, the design of the store is set to look like a traditional butcher's shop and will be stocked with items like Shroomdog sausages visible from the store's front window.

Just in time for summer barbecue season, people will have the chance to buy and try everything from BBQ pulled jackfruit to vegan-friendly steaks and bacon substitutes. To help passionate consumers learn more, the Meat-Free Butchers will be sharing advice, tips and tricks on the best plant-based and meatless cooking methods.
